Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first television roles were two episodes in the role of Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on the ABC sitcom Roseanne The character was portrayed by her mom. But her parents would not allow her to play until she became an adult due to the negative effects that stress could have on their daughter. Perry was shy during high school and did not act. The actress began her acting career in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends upon her transfer to the university from Boston University. Perry started her acting career with New York after graduation, landing minor roles on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, the feeling of homelessness made Perry go back to California and find work as a stage actress. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway with her mother. In 2015, she appeared together with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning Drama Anna Christie. It is part of the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family. In 2017 she had an appearance on the ABC Political thriller Scandal featuring her father. This year, she was chosen to portray a younger character of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a younger counterpart to her mother's role. Despite her family link to this character, she received the role through an audition.
